Commemoration of 1979 Sino-Vietnam Boundary War hampered in Saigon

Danlambao’s collaborator - Several civilians along with Le Hieu Dang Club members gathered at Tran Hung Dao monument on the morning of 17 Feb. 2016 to burn joss sticks in memory of the fallen during the Sino-Vietnam boundary war in 1979.

A few hours before the event, Saigon police agents had been dispatched to cordon off the homes of Le Hieu Dang Club members such as Ms. Suong Quynh, Mr. Huynh Kim Bau, To Le Son, Kha Luong Ngai etc...

Tightly besieged by numerous security agents, policemen and thugs, more than 50 people braved out, participating in the commemoration.

In an effort to prevent photographing and public attention, some, carefully assigned by the police, used umbrellas to block the scene of those who were solemnly burning joss sticks in the commemorative service, according to Danlambao’s collaborators.

Often regarded as "booty", the wreaths, as soon as they were put in place, were quickly grabbed and taken away immediately by police agents and thugs.

Calling the enemy comrades, preventing the masses from commemorating the fallen during the Sino-Vietnam boundary war in 1979, once again the police disguised as thugs in Saigon have clearly portrayed those in cahoost with China in the Vietnamese people’s eyes.
