Dân Làm Báo vừa nhận được thư của Hiệp Hội Các Nhà Xuất Bản tại Na Uy (Norwegian Publishers Association) gửi yêu cầu Bộ trưởng Bộ Ngoại giao Na Uy yêu cầu nhà nước Việt Nam trả tự do cho Bùi Chát. Dân Làm Báo xin gửi đến các bạn.Hiệp Hội Các Nhà Xuất Bản tại Na Uy bày tỏ sự quan tâm trước sự kiện nhà xuất bản trẻ Bùi Chát bị nhà cầm quyền Việt Nam bắt giữ chỉ vì Bùi Chát được chọn nhận giải thưởng cao quý "Tự Do Xuất Bản năm 2011" do Hiệp Hội Các Nhà Xuất Bản Quốc Tế, IPA, trao tặng.
Ông Per Christian Opsahl, Giám Đốc Điều Hành của Hiệp Hội Các Nhà Xuất Bản Na Uy đã gửi thư yêu cầu Bộ Trưởng Bộ Ngoại Giao Na Uy, ông Jonas Gahr Støre, giúp đỡ bằng cách chính thức yêu cầu nhà nước Việt Nam trả tự do tức khắc và vô điều kiện cho Bùi Chát, vì anh là một nhà xuất bản can đảm đã đóng góp và hỗ trợ cho các nhà xuất bản độc lập khác tại Việt Nam phát hành những tác phẩm của các tác giả ngoài luồng.

DEN NORSKE FORLEGGERFORENING BER NORSKE MYNDIGHETER OM BISTAND TIL RASK LØSLATELSE AV DEN VIETNAMESISKE FORLEGGEREN BUI CHAT
Den 25. april i år mottok den unge vietnamesiske forleggeren Bui Chat, International Publishers Association Freedom to Publish Prize. Prisutdelingen fant sted i Buenos Aires i tilknytning til 37th Buenos Aires International Book Fair.
Bui Chat er grunnlegger og forlegger i Giay Vun Publishing House. Giay Vun er dedikert til å trykke og publisere verkene til de vietnamesiske ”pavement poets”. Bui Chat er en modig undergrunnsforlegger som har bidratt til at også andre frie og uavhengige forlag utgir verkene til bannlyste forfattere og historikere.
Da Bui Chat returnerte til Vietnam ble han umiddelbart arrestert, ført til sitt hjem som ble ransaket og deretter ble han satt i arrest. Bui Chat risikerer å sitte opp til 9 måneder i arresten under gjeldende lover for ”purpose of investigation”, før myndighetene må ta ut offisiell tiltale.
Den norske Forleggerforening reagerer med vantro på fengslingen av Bui Chat, og ber norske myndigheter legge press på vietnamesiske myndigheter for en rask løslatelse av Bui Chat, slik at han straks kan gjenoppta sin samfunnsnyttige virksomhet.
IPAs Freedom to Publish Prize, utdeles hvert år for å ære en person eller organisasjon som har gitt et vesentlig bidrag til å forsvare og fremme retten til fritt å kunne utgi og publisere hvor som helst i verden. Tidligere priser har gått til:

THE NORWEGIAN PUBLISHERS ASSOCIATION IS ASKING NORWEGIAN AUTHORITIES FOR ASSISTANCE IN AID OF THE SPEEDY RELEASE OF THE VIETNAMESE PUBLISHER BUI CHAT
On 25th April this year, the Vietnamese publisher Bui Chat received the International Publishers Association Freedom to Publish Prize. The award ceremony took place in Buenos Aires in connection with the 37th Buenos Aires International Book Fair.
Bui Chat is the founder and publisher of Giay Vun Publishing House. Giay Vun is dedicated to printing and publishing the works of the vietnamese ”pavement poets”. Bui Chat is a brave underground publisher who has contributed to other free and independent publishers releasing the works of otherwise excluded authors and historians.
When Bui Chat returned to Vietnam, he was immediately arrested and taken to his home, which was ransacked. He was thereafter taken into custody. Bui Chat is facing up to 9 months in custody under current laws for ”purpose of investigation”, before the authorities need to officially indict him.
The Norwegian Publishers Association is reacting with disbelief at the arrest of Bui Chat, and is asking Norwegian authorities to put pressure on Vietnamese authorities to obtain a speedy release of Bui Chat, for an immediate return to his important work in society.
IPAs Freedom to Publish Prize is handed out every year to honour a person or organization who has provided a substantial contribution towards defending and encouraing the right to publish anywhere in the world. Prevous winners:
