Như Ngọc (Danlambao) - According to an urgent report from Hanoi, at 10:15 p.m. on February 11, 2014, uniformed police and regime-hired security guards attacked Thai Ha Church in Dong Da District, Hanoi. Thai Ha parishioners are currently ringing church bells and beating drums for help.
The Facebook page of the Vietnamese Catholic Students (Facebook SV CG Việt Nam) has posted a plea for help, “Police are attacking the church of Thai Ha - Ha Noi, church bells are ringing. We urgently call on parishioners and students in Hanoi to come to assist the church immediately. For those who won’t be able to come, please pray for the church and the priests.”
Currently, uniformed police and regime-hired security guards already broke into the church.
The attack occurred shortly after Thai Ha parish announced a prayer vigil for lawyer Le Quoc Quan at 10 p.m. on Sunday, February 16, 2014. The vigil is scheduled before his appeal trial on February 18, 2014 at the People’s Supreme Court of Hanoi.
