In the afternoon the same day, Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung, Dung’s father, made a request to see him at the police station of Hoan Kiem district in Hanoi. Police rejected his request and orally informed him his son has been criminally charged of "disturbing public order" under Article 245 of the penal code.
Earlier, at noon on April 12, 2015, Hanoi police placed the 29 year-old man in urgent arrest when he was having iced tea with friends. Clearly, accusing him of “causing public disorder” is absolutely a blatant slander.
Born after the end of Vietnam war and grew up in northern province of Nghe An, however, Nguyen Viet Dung has a burning love for the former Republic of Vietnam.
The action to honor the values of freedom and humanism rooted in the former Republic of Vietnam is the main reason of Dung’s persecution by the communist dictatorship.
