My heart aches when I see my mother writhes in pain

Dear sirs and madams,

I am a child of the land grab victim Tran Ngoc Anh.

Around 12:30 p.m. on May 18, five land grab victims and my mother were oppressed, assaulted, arrested and detained at Ward 2 police station in District 6, Saigon.

Police beat and humiliated my mother; at 5:30 p.m. they took my mother home on a police vehicle while she could not walk by herself. She has suffered chest pain and severe body pains in the last 3 nights. On the morning of May 21, my mom looked very tired and had difficulty with breathings, so I took her to see a private doctor.

Dear sirs and madams at home and abroad, my mother is being treated by a physician. The illegal actions committed by police of Ward 2, District 6 are serious violations of the laws.

My mother is a person of high spirit of patriotism, but police used force to assault a patriotic woman like my mom, who participates in protest against foreign invasion.

Dear compatriots at home and abroad, please pay attention to my mother’s situation and help voice your concerns for her.

Thank you very much.

Facebook Trần Ngọc Anh - Land grab victim Tran Ngoc Anh was brutally assaulted during an anti-China protest in Saigon on May 18, 2014.

They [police] confiscated the following items from her:

- 500,000 VND (about 25 USD)

- One white Ao Dai (a Vietnamese traditional dress) carrying the messages "Destroy Chinese Communist invaders" in the front and "Get rid of domestic communists" in the back.

- 15 banners that carry the following messages.

"Vietnamese Communist Party, return the country to the people for saving the nation!"
"Vietnamese nationals must regain the right of self-determination"
"Get rid of domestic communist enemies"
"Destroy foreign invasion from Communist China"
"Demanding the Vietnamese Communist party to release the prisoners of conscience"

- 21 white mourning clothes.

- 1 handbook.

- One week supply of medication to treat dizziness and head injury.

- A necklace cross pendant was damaged.

- Three 3 cameras; police returned 2 after breaking them.

Also in this incident, Nguyen Thi Hoa, a land grab victim from Kien Giang province, was confiscated 4,640,000 VND (about 230 USD). Hoa threatened to kill herself if police did not return her money; finally, police kept about 500,000 VND and returned her the money.

Six land grab victims were beaten and strangled by police while being taken to Ward 2 police station. Upon arriving at the police station, police torn apart the victims’ handbags and pockets so that the regime-hired thugs could easily rob the victims’ cell phones. After locking up Tran Ngoc Anh, police striped her naked for a search, humiliated her then accused her for using ecstasy pills.

In nine years in power, [former] President Thieu made a famous quote: "Don't listen to anything Communists say, but instead look at whatever the Communists did!"

The Vietnamese Communists have called on people to express opposition to China’s aggression in the East Sea, but when people make protest against China they blatantly suppress protesters in a barbaric manner.

Then, who are they? Are they really the puppets of Communist China?
