Organizations and individuals at home and abroad
The media
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Our daughter Do Thi Minh Hanh was sentenced to 7 years in prison by the Vietnamese authorities for her activities in protecting the rights of Vietnamese workers and landless farmers and advocating for human rights in Vietnam. After spending more than 4 years and 4 months in many prisons from South to North of Vietnam, Hanh was unconditionally released by the Vietnamese authorities.
On the evening of June 28, 2014, Do Thi Minh Hanh came back home in the loving arms of family members and friends. The early release of our daughter is the result of the great advocacy and support from political leaders and diplomats worldwide, the media, organizations and individuals in Vietnam and abroad those who have continually voiced support for the prisoners of conscience in Vietnam and demanded their release.
For what our family joyfully has today, we sincerely express our deepest gratitude to all of you for your support in the long struggle to demand the Vietnamese authorities to unconditionally release Hanh.
In the days ahead, the movement of advocating for freedom for all prisoners of conscience in Vietnam is still ongoing. Our family will always stand by you to fight for the release of all prisoners of conscience in Vietnam including Hanh’s two friends Nguyen Hoang Quoc Hung and Doan Huy Chuong.
Our entire family respectfully wishes you all good health and best wishes.
Sincerely,
