How "glorious" the communist party of Vietnam is!

VNCH-Ngoc Truong (Danlambao) - The Labor online dated October 24, 2017 showed investigative reports regarding the “HANDBAG SHOPS” at 158 Nguyen Son Street (Long Bien, Hanoi). Online of Zing, VTC, Vietnamnet have full reprints and photos.

Reporters disguised as shoppers, after repeatedly visiting high-end boutiques in the area, collected many stories in the reports:

"Reporters came to shop 32 which owned by Ms. H, as the tour guide said it was just a mini display of goods but the shop is the most famous. Anyone who thinks of trading handbags, or cross-country trading would be advised to stop by this particular shop for a quote.

Thanks to the relationship “with big guys” the top-2 shop got from one thousand to two thousand different commodities and not much of difference for pricing of wholesale or retail.

At the wine and cigar sector, dozens of spirits are neatly laid out on wooden shelves. Selling price is also very strong from several (Vietnam currency) hundred thousand to tens of million per bottle. Some bottles on the shelves had receipts from foreign supermarkets attached, most are not. "

"This is a display merchandises supplied by flight attendants. Thay had different sources of supply through “good relationship”, flight attdants could not handle large quantity.

The niece of Ms. H said:

"Aunt H is the only one in the family doing business, instead of working in the airline like other family members. She is the “queen” in this kind of business, days close to Lunar new year, total sale reached 2 billions, the profit is 500 millions/day (about 22000 US), which is quite normal.

Each shop had roughly three warehouses scattered around the area. "

Liquors on display in store. Diving kids in trash. No bridge for students to cross river.

"When the goods are safely delivered , the payment is based on brand name, the higher the value million, attendants get about 200-300 thousand. Llow value items will be paid by weight of the whole package.

A Japanese color-changing lipstick coming from Tokyo to Hanoi by portable luggage will be paid 50% extra. A small suitcase of the flight attendant can hold up to several boxes, with a dozen of lipsticks per box. From Chivas Regal, Johnnie Walker, all kinds of spirits in the world, to Cohiba Cuba cigars .. smuggled out of T2 Noi Bai station already got paid tens of dollars ...

Though flight attendants had high pay, but they can still make several more tens of millions (400-500 US) why say no?”

1/ Those are luxurious items, not really essential in daily life of ordinary people. Retailers play the role of supply in "Law of supply and demand”, thus:

Where does the luxury demand come from?

Who are the buyers?

Buyers are absolutely not 8, 10-year old boys, without shirts, dipping themselves in the mountain of garbage to find beer cans, or good plastic bags. They wish to have something to eat in the evening, school is only a dream. Those kids want to live through a day not too hungry, not too exhausted for their fragile and unhealthy bodies. Fun, school, playing are things for that age to think about not how to survive day by day.

The demand, definetely would not come from a low-ranking civil servant whose salary is good to survive only two weeks. Perhaps, he can afford Chivas Regal or Johnnie Walker bottles in his life sometimes, not for himself but to say thank you to his bosses the so called "leaders” that could remove him off the job, life would be much worse if that happened.

Customers who spends a couple of hundred US dollars for a bottle of wine or a Japanese color-changing lipstick, or skin care cream made in France , could be found among 200 guests of the farewell party at a five-star hotel. That extravagant party that cost only… 200,000 dollars (US) with heavy security was a great opportunity to show gratitude to the host, the same host that signed documens in favor of the business of invited-guests. Both are cheeky, both were cheating, taking advantage of each other, profiteering on the back of the poor, of the young kids in the garbage dump (see farewell party to Nguyen Phuoc Thanh, Deputy Governor of National Bank).

High-end boutiques in Long Bien, Hanoi.

2/ “Big guys” are behind those high-end boutiques, that means either the owners had connections some sort, or they had good relationship to government officials through bribery. Owners could be relatives of high-ranking officials from the Communist party as well.

Therefore, local police and tax officers have no choice but looking the other way.

The niece of the store owner said that the worst case is sometimes those guys (local police/tax officers) visited in a raid, the owner paid them out 15 millions VND (more than 650 US) and case is closed.

No wonder business people in Vietnam and some officials quickly build new luxury houses in upscale neighborhood and buy expensive cars like Bentley (nearly 200,000 US, basic price), Mercedes top models. The greedy officials, and the corrupted members of the CP (communust party) took advantage of every opportunity to get rich by bootlegging that is how they make black/bloody money. The poor is the looser.

3/ Being pilots, flight attendants is the privilege under the communust regime in Vietnam. People with good family connections, relatives of high-ranking CP members are allowed to apply for this job. They travel abroad back and forth, every flight and smuggled goods ordered by the lists, goods could be evertyings from cosmetics products, brandy, expensive clothing, gold, cocaine, etc.

It is only the first source of supply, the second source comes from ships sailing overseas then come back to Vietnam, supplied heavy stuff (motor bikes, furnitures) and/or large quantity of merchandises flight attendant could not handle.

Smuggling is not an act of an individual, but a well-organized system from top officials. Theft, corruption, bribery from the government itself to street people have become way of life in reality.

Even the poor are surrounded by all hardships and difficulties, they themselves, have to turn to bad ways to survive. They young ones grew up in the same bad environment, they get uset to it, no wonder they follow the wrong, bad way (theft by young students in Japan and other countries).

In the mean time, Vietnam keeps asking and receiving foreign aid from World Bank, from Canada, France, Germany, US, etc, under the program of eradication of hunger and reducing poverty, but the campaign fighting against corruption and bribery is not seriously taken.

The laws, the codes are available however, the courts, the judges, the police are badly corrupted and somehow protected by the government, simply they belonged to the same Communis Party.

In another word, the issues in Vietnam today can only solved when the communist regimed is overthrown, and the Communist party is off the power they had so long. Democracy and freedom will move Vietnam to a new chapter with more prosperity and social transparency.

The longer the communist regime persists, the longer Vietnam tragedy exists.

HOW “GLORIOUS” THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF VIETNAM IS!
