Như Ngọc (Danlambao) - Around noon on March 13, 2014, a police force of Nam Sach district, Hai Duong province mobilized in 4 vehicles conducted a raid to arrest Nguyen Ba Dang, a former prisoner of conscience released in 2013, at his private residence and took him to Nam Sach police station without a search or arrest warrant.
Security agents and police took turn to interrogate Dang for almost two days, including night time, and released him around 5 p.m. on March 14. He said that security agents showed him the print outs of a few dozen articles, which he wrote and posted on his Facebook account, and told him to sign to confirm their authentication but he refused to do so. Later, they showed him an article in which he calls for a rally on March 14, 2014 and charged him of "organizing protest" and forced him to sign to admit guilty. He strongly rejected the charge and police demands and they finally released him.
As a Vietnam citizen, I strongly protest the illegal arrest of Nguyen Ba Dang recently carried out by Nam Sach police.
Nguyen Ba Dang can be reached at +84 0949588154.
